Antique Victorian G.L.P (George L Paine) Gold Plated Pendant/Brooch with a Vermeil Danecraft Square Snake Chain Necklace

Beautiful victorian brooch/pendant made by George L Paine. A signet style, meant to be engraved this one never was. This piece can be worn as a necklace pendant or a brooch. It is signed G.L.P. on the C catch clasp. The chain I have paired it with is a square snake chain that is stamped vermeil (gold over sterling silver) Danecraft 925. The chain has a spring ring clasp.

G.L.P., or G.L.P.CO, is the hallmark for George L Paine & Company. Founded in 1909 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts, and last known in business in 1922. Their products were mostly solid gold, 10k gold front and gold-filled jewellery. There are no markings to indicate gold content.

The brooch measures roughly 1.5 inches across and 1 inch tall. The chain measures from end to end 16 inches.

Previously owned and in great antique condition. Does show some surface scratches from normal wear.
