1955 Crown Trifari Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow Gold Tone Brooch,

This is a gold tone pin/brooch. It depicts 3 stalks of wheat tied together and a heart dangling that shows a raised picture of a home and the tress and bushes in the yard. The back of the heart is Stamped "Betty Crocker Homemaker of Tomorrow" In the very bottom of the heart in the point it has the Crown Trifari hallmark. It has a good weight to it and feels very well made.
The brooch measures roughly 2.5 inches across and 1.5 inches tall.
Previously owned and in very good vintage condition. The gold tone is still very juicy and shiny. Please examine all of the photos and decide for yourself.
Some history-
The Betty Crocker Search for the All-American Homemaker of Tomorrow was established by General Mills in the early 1950s. The high school-aged contestants took a 50-minute, 150-question exam. A retrospective General Mills article says that the topics covered in the exam included "family relationships, spiritual and moral values, child development and care, health and safety, utilization and conservation, money management, recreation and use of leisure time, home care and beautification, community participation, and continuing education.
The winners from each high school received a pin (this pin) and an award, and then wrote essays. Whoever wrote the best essays went on to Washington DC to compete and one woman would be crowned Homemaker of tomorrow.
